Design Principals and Proposal

I ended up selecting the image at the very top of the list for my project. I chose this image because it has a lot of variety through the use of horizontal lines, leading lines, curved lines, and diagonal lines. This adds interest to the shot and make it feel more alive. I was also going to add contrast in the color of the lines to create conflict. Another reason that I ended up choosing this image is because the proportion and the leading lines create emphasis on the pendulum. For the lighting I am going to have the lines giving off cool light and the sun give off warm light. I will also have the pendulum give off white light to create emphasis through contrast of light.

Film Score Investigation

Why Music? Music is an essential part of film. It can be used to set the tone for a scene or to drive the action. When used correctly in conjunction with visuals, music can transform the emotional experience of a film. Some of the most memorable moments of a film are because of the score. Film scores can be used to build tension, fear, or any emotion. For this investigation I will be learning about how to create a film score. The Psychological Effect of Music In Film 1 during our study of film history we discussed what is known as the Kuleshov effect. The Kuleshov effect is an analysis of how the audiences interpretation of an image changes in relation to the next image. Year End Summary

Favorite Part of Class My favorite part of class was being able to work independently. Having the freedom to work at my own pace was a breath of fresh air. Also what I enjoyed a lot was being able to help with other groups shoots. Before we would only shoot in our own groups, but with the freedom to shoot outside of class it became a lot easier. Seeing how other people performed their tasks and managed their crew was also an interesting and insightful experience. What I Learned the Most I've learned the most about how to deal with people on a set. Being outside of school completely changes the dynamic and it really shows you who is a hard worker and who isn't. Being able to pick and choose who I worked with is great, but it is important to know how to work with people you wouldn't want to work with. It is a key role of the director to keep everyone motivated on the shoot. This is essential because if no one is trying than you aren't going to have a good movie. It t...
