Themes in Conceptual Film

The theme that really resonated with me was the theme on invention and fantasy. This is mostly because most of my favorite films are science fiction and have to deal with the struggle for the survival of humanity. Invention and Fantasy is a theme about a unnatural and fictitious world. I would like to direct a film dealing with this theme because I find it so interesting to watch on screen which makes me want to try out my own ideas and see what they look like when everything comes together on screen. I would also be interested in writing a film like this because it would enable me to translate my own ideas to film and not the ideas of others. This topic would also make me want to help with the production of the film as a producer just because of how invested I am in this type of film. I'm intrigued by these kinds of films mostly because of how different they are from day to day life but how easy it is to express a common struggle through exaggerating certain aspects of life. One of the other themes of art that I would like to cover in conjunction with the theme of invention and fantasy is looking inward. This theme of what it means to be human is very intriguing and is one of the basic human questions about life that can never really be answered for you. That is why it is so interesting to try to answer with art because it will always remain a mystery to humanity that is never fully answered in life. When I have seen films in my life these are the kind of films that have always stuck with me as time moves on. That is one of the reasons why I am really intrigued and interested by these themes in art and feel the need to create films about these themes.

Why Music? Music is an essential part of film. It can be used to set the tone for a scene or to drive the action. When used correctly in conjunction with visuals, music can transform the emotional experience of a film. Some of the most memorable moments of a film are because of the score. Film scores can be used to build tension, fear, or any emotion. For this investigation I will be learning about how to create a film score. The Psychological Effect of Music In Film 1 during our study of film history we discussed what is known as the Kuleshov effect. The Kuleshov effect is an analysis of how the audiences interpretation of an image changes in relation to the next image. Final Robot Animation

This project was an incredible learning experience that is applicable for both film and animation. What I learned was that goals must remain relevant to the task being performed at hand. The hardest part of this project was creating the concept that I had produced in pre production. The idea and goals that I created for myself in pre production were simply not possible with the time I allowed myself to accomplish them. The worst part about this predicament is that it forces you to decide what corners need to be cut in production to meet the deadline. The painful part is choosing the right corners to cut which allow the story to retain most of its original form. I ended up having to cut out the entire planned ending and shorten the film, completely altering the overall meaning. Next time I will use this information to better judge the time required to accomplish certain tasks. However, I did have a few successes though.
